Sara Acton was born in the Cotswolds in England and studied Fine Art in Hull. After graduating she completed a postgraduate diploma in Art Education at Goldsmiths in London to become an art teacher for children. Sara then moved to New Zealand where she taught art to children before settling in Sydney, Australia. Sara always loved drawing, especially people and other strange creatures. She was recently shortlisted for the 2010 Gavin Bishop Award and the 2009 and 2010 Joy Cowley Picture Book award.
