The Colosseum is an elliptical amphitheatre in the centre of the city of Rome. Built of concrete and stone, it was the largest amphitheatre of the Roman Empire, and is considered one of the greatest works of Roman architecture and engineering. Construction began under the emperor Vespasian in 70 AD and was completed in 80 AD under his successor and heir Titus. It could hold an estimated 50,000 to 80,000 spectators and was used for gladiatorial contests and other public spectacles. In 2007 the complex was also included among the New7 Wonders of the World. With 216 pieces it is fascinating to construct. Finished Puzzle Size: 34 x 34 x 24.2 cm Box Size: 37 x 27 x 7 cm
